Welcome to Portals Projects! Each week we share projects that foster community building, creative thinking, problem-solving and character development. Invite your student(s) to pick a project that interests them to work on for a day or a week. Every Easter / Resurrection Day Routines
Does your family have any Easter or Resurrection Day traditions? Invite someone new to participate in one of your traditions this year. Then find or invent a new tradition. Examples: Passion play, Ukrainian Eggs, Hot Cross Buns, Empty Tomb Rolls, Egg Tapping, Easter Egg Hunt with a Twist, Stations of the Cross
Artwork
Find an Easter artwork that you like and recreate it by printing and tracing it, copying it or recreating it in a different style or medium.
Egg - straw -dinary Save! (inspired by iGameMom)
Challenge: Save the egg! Drop an egg from 6 feet using only straws and tape.
Materials: Plastic food wrapped raw eggs (no cheating!), 12 straws, duct tape
Scoring:
10 points if it survives from 6 feet
15 points if it survives from more than 6 feet
20 points if it doesn’t survive the first time and you keep redesigning until it works!
Answers for All
My friends have a lot of questions about Jesus’s death and resurrection. Why did Jesus have to die? Why did people want to kill Jesus? How do I know Jesus rose from the dead? Can you help me answer one of these questions or another common question by creating a little booklet that explains it in a way readers can remember?
Religion
Imagine you are an explorer and you have discovered a new land. You have learned that these people believe in a creator God but they do not know anything about Jesus. Explain how you will share the Gospel with them.
